Vieux Passage is a delightful little village right on the banks of the Etel river. Travel to Magouero(4k) for an excellent beach backed by sand dunes. You must visit the Barre d'Etel to watch the effect of the incoming tide as it enters the estuary. Supermarket, bars and restaurants at Belz (3k). The beaches and megalithic site at Carnac are a must visit(15k) as is the magnificent Quiberon peninsula(20k).
"We had a great stay, above our expectations. The well-equipped house is much nicer inside than it appears from the outside, in a quaint village, with lots to explore nearby by foot or bike. The garden doesn’t look much either (Perhaps some enhancements are being planned), but it’s a great place to sit out in the evening, especially when the tide is in. The immediate river area is safe for kids to swim or paddle around in the little dinghy.
The local bistrot is OK, but you need to strike out further afield if you want to eat out.
