Easy walking distance from a lovely sandy beach where there is also a small bar/restaurant. This is a very pretty area and not overcrowded even in peak season. The local town is Moulin, and Pont Aven, famous for its painters is only a few minutes drive away.
Nestled in the hollow of an estuary, Pont Aven, where Gauguin lived for several years, is famous for it’s contempary art school and biscuit (galette) making. The school of painting is well represented through exhibitions at the Pont Aven museum in Place de l’Hotel-de-Ville, unfortunately you will not find Gauguin originals here. You can walk to the Bois d’Amour, the wood of love, it’s scenery inspired Gauguin and other Symbolist painters in the 19th C. The walk also leads to the marina, once a fishing port, and a few of the preserved remains of local flourmills. Sample the local galettes in the many quaint shops and wander into the renouned art galleries.
