The property is a private wing of the house overlooking the river. Quimperle is a charming old town that sits on the junction of the Elle and Isole rivers. The town, with its lovely ancient centre is within walking distance. Highly recommended.

The highly photogenic garden, shared with the owner, borders the river where there is trout and salmon in season.

Midway between Quimper and Lorient, Quimperlé is an attractive small town with pretty medieval streets and churches. Stands at the point where the rivers Isole and Elle merge to form the Laita and straddles a hill and these two rivers. The valley is cut by a sequence of bridges. Quimperle is divided into two parts, the upper town and lower town an atmospheric place, particularly in the medieval muddle of streets around Ste-Croix church. Many of the superb half-timbered houses have projecting upper storeys. Along the rue Bremond-d’Ars are several stately stone-built houses dating from the 17th C Once a fairly important harbour but today it is chiefly used for small pleasure craft which sail along the Laita river. Guided tours are available from the tourist office and take about two hours. Music festivals and concerts take place in July and August. The Fête de la Laïta in mid-August is a family occasion with canoe “battles” and 2CV races.
