Travelling to Brittany
Most of our customers choose to travel by cay on the Western Channel routes from Portsmouth, Poole, Weymouth or Plymouth. With the new catamaran services to Cherbourg saving up to two hours versus conventional ferry, the early morning departures enables you to arrive at your property by mid afternoon. Alternatively, we are increasingly using the afternoon crossings on the day before rental starts, plus an overnight stay in a traditional French family hotel, as a cheaper and more relaxed alternative to the overnight ferry with cabins. Over the last few years the motorway network across northern France has been completed now making it possible to travel Dover to Calais by ferry or Eurotunnel and drive to Brittany in the same day. The introduction of low cost flights from London Stansted to Caen, Dinan and Brest now offer an affordable alternative to ferries.
