Nantes was the capital of Brittany in the middle Ages and is, therefore, rich in history and still remains to a large extent Breton in its customs and traditions today. Nantes is renowned for it's festivals and annual events. Some of the best medieval buildings are situated in the Place du Change and Place St-Croix where you'll find chic bars and restaurants.

  5. Jules Verne Museum - A museum housing artifacts and replicas of inventions designed by futuristic author Jules Verne.

  7. The Feydeau Island - in the centre of Nantes, amazing 18thC residences testify to the richness of the Nantes ship owners

  9. La Baule - One of the leading resorts on the French Atlantic coast, with a very beautiful beach several km long. A seafront boulevard runs along above the beach, beautiful gardens. Around the town are salt-pans and pinewoods planted to stabilize the dunes.
  10. Guerande � A large area of salt pans where natural salt is still produced.
